It's Week Five of our Summer Reading Blog Challenge. How is your reading going?

| The Official Ninja Turtle Handbook by Golden Books |
This week I've been reading The Official Ninja Turtle Handbook. It told me everything about all of the characters in the episodes of Turtles that I like to watch. It also told me about the monsters the turtles try to defeat.

| Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer by Megan McDonald |
I am currently reading Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. Judy Moody thinks she is going to have the best summer ever. In the beginning of the story Judy had news from her mom. Her mom said that her aunt Opal was coming over to watch her while they go to California. Next in the story, aunt Opal came and gave Stink (Judy's brother) and Judy a present. Stink got a book on how to catch Big Foot and Judy got a mood ring. That is what happened so far in my book. I'll tell you more about it next week!

| Best Friends Forever by Amy Shields |
I am starting to read Best Friends Forever it is about different true stories about friendships of animals. In chapter one, an orangutang named Suryia and a dog named Roscoe meet by a stream where Suryia and an elephant named Bubbles are walking down a stream with their trainer Moksha Bybee. They spot Roscoe lonely cold and hungry.

ReplyDeleteI read Magic Tree House Fact Tracker #6 Rain Forests. I learned about plants and animals that live in rain forests. There are very big plants in the rain forest, and some are even bigger than bicycle tires! There are animals in the rain forests that haven't even been discovered or named yet! Rain forests are being destroyed by people and animals are becoming endangered. Rain forests give us a bunch of stuff that help us live and stay alive like food, medicine, and clean air. In the Magic Tree House book Afternoon in the Amazon Jack and Annie go to the rain forest in the present day, but if the rain forests become extinct the author will have to change the book so Jack and Annie have to go back in time to see the rain forest. The most important thing I learned from these books is that we need to protect and save our rain forests!
That sounds like a good book. I like Magic Tree House books too. I would like to read more of them. Natalie Z grade 2

ReplyDeleteSo far in my Starring Jules book the movie that Jules is in got postponed and they have to wait to start filming the movie. The movie hot postponed because the main lead got something in his eye.

ReplyDeleteAt the end of Larryboy...all the kids go to the slushee place for the mister slushee's slushee slurping contest. This book was very funny because the character Wally ate seventeen slushees.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Lone Wolf,now the mother grizzly who found Foalan is teaching him how to hunt trout and salmon. The grizzly and Foalan have built a den next to a river that has fish. So far, I am enjoying this book.

I read How to Speak Dragonese by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the III, translated by Cressida Cowell. It was about Hiccup learning how to board an enemy ship. He accidently boarded a Roman ship, and his dragon Toothless was captured by the Romans. His friend Fishlegs and him went back to Berk and got yelled at by Gobber. The next day they got kidnapped by the Romans and they sailed them to Fort Sinister. They were in a prison tower with other prisoners. A soldier threw a green ball at Hiccup, but it was toothless who was rolled up. The soldiers let them out to fight in the amphitheater, but they had to fight shark worms, not gladiators. I am reading for the update and it is about Judy dose a bunch of dares. The first dare is to walk on a tightrope. While Judy was on the tightrope, Frank one of her best friends was on the tightrope at the same time. So then it started to wobble and Judy and Frank fell off the tightrope.

ReplyDeleteabout my book last week:a pirate curse in it jolly and munk are pirates and can walk on water they are called pollywigs. the book is by kai meyers who lives in germany.th ere are two more books in the series and another good book he wrote is the water mirror.
Brian T grade 3 This is for week 4 when I was busy. Chapter 1 from Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was a beautiful scenery where the Hydra fortress was hidden. Some of the Hydra henchmen had Chitauri weapons, more powerful than any weapon ever created on Earth.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is Frozen The Cinestory. Right now Elsa ran away then Anna was going after Elsa. Later on in the story Anna meets Kristoff and they are working on going up to the north mountain. Along the way they meet Olaf. That is all I have read right now.

Ian B. Grade 2 This week I've been reading The Adventures of Captain Underpants. My favorite part of the book so far is when Captain Underpants gets trapped by a truck and then the truck stopped and he flew right through the door! Captain Underpants books have great action!

Brian T grade 3 I'm reading Avengers: Age of Ultron Ch.2. It starts out by the Avengers defeating the Hydra and when Tony Stark is searching for files, he locates Loki's scepter. But then, Wanda Maximoff(Scarlet Witch) brain washes Tony into forgetting about the scepter and creating a vision to make him believe the Avengers died.

ReplyDeleteToday I read the book The Dandelion Seed. It's about a dandelion seed that doesn't want to blow away. The stronger the wind blew the more the seed held on tight. One day the seed blew away. It traveled and traveled and traveled until it landed in the snow. The snow was like a blanket and one day in the spring it started to sprout. Then the sunshine came out. It grew leaves and flowers started to grow. Animals ate the leaves and bugs drank the nectar. Then more seeds came and they blew away except for one seed that was blown away by a boy.
I like that book too Caly! It is a great example of how wind helps and the illustrations are cool! - Mrs. Strayer

First, the arch nemesis, Marvin, used a time machine to bring them back to the present from the future where they were when the last book ended. Then, Captain Underpants fought a giant robotic toilet and won.

ReplyDeleteI just stared reading The escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library. In the first chapter this boy named Kyle got grounded because he broke the glass window in their basement and his dad found out. Kyle got grounded for a week and got fifty cents deducted from his allowance for the rest of that year.I can not wait to keep reading!
