It looks like a lot of students are interested in Greek Mythology. The Percy Jackson series is a great place to learn more! My daughter Julia read several of the books a few years ago and she still says they are her favorite books. I wonder if any of our younger students have had their parents read the Percy Jackson books to them?

ReplyDeleteI am reading Mercy Watson to the Rescue. It is about a pig that did not feel warm inside like butter on toast. Mercy went to sleep with Mr and Mrs Watson and broke the bed. Mercy goes to the neighbors for help.

ReplyDeleteNow in Harry Potter book 4 Harry was selected to be the youngest person to join the Triwizard Tournament and he had to do one of his three tasks which was to fight dragons. It was really cool how the author added all of those descriptive words and dialog to the certain part of the book. That is what I have been reading so far.

DeleteAfter jane wishes it spreads around and when jane finds out it only does half she tells her siblings to start wishing twice as much as they want. The book ends when the magic charm loses all of its wishes because the children used so many.
I think this is a great book.

ReplyDeleteI am reading The Magic Treehouse #14. So in number #14 Jack and Annie go to china. They are sent to save an ancient book. And when they were there, they saw the Dragon King burning all of the books. Then, Annie and Jack found the book they were sent for. After saving the book, they got lost in the tomb and came across the army of painted clay soldiers. They got out by following the ball of silk yarn. Then they went back to their tree house. And they waved to the couple who the book was about. Their mom asked them how China was.

This time they travel to San Frisisco.when they get stuck in a allay from a earthquake.Later...workers come to save houses by blowing them up with dynimate.

ReplyDeleteI just finished the book BUNNICULA . It was AWSOME. In the book a family brought home a bunny that had glowing red eyes and fangs!And there was a cat named Chester and he thought it was a vampire but Harold the dog thought it was just a bunny.
I loved reading Bunnicula! I liked how the story was told by the dog. My favorite part was how all the vegetables kept turning white. Would want a pet like Bunnicula? ~Mrs. Arentz

ReplyDeleteThis week I read Magic tree house fact tracker #3 Mummies and pyramids. I learned a lot of facts about Egypt and the pyramids in this book. One funny fact I learned is that some families shaved off their eyebrows to show their grief when a pet died. I liked this book because I think that Egyptian people were interesting.

Emily Grade 2 - I read Mariposa & the Fairy Princess. I like this book because Mariposa is so brave. I like that Mariposa gets the crystallite back at the end. I also read Fancy Nancy Budding Ballerina this week, this book is funny because Nancy tries to teach her dad how to dance. She teaches him all the foot positions in ballet.
