Week 11 Challenge 2015

Congratulations!

You have made it to Week Eleven, the final week, of our Summer 2015 Reading Blog Challenge!

Your teachers have been working hard to get your classrooms ready for the first day of school. They are so excited for you to arrive. They can't wait to discuss all the amazing books you've been reading this summer!

Mrs. Dragovich and I have been busy planning the Wildcat celebration for the Summer Reading Blog Challenge participants. We hope you have earned this reward.

It's Time To Write Your Final Blog Entry!

What are you reading this week? In the comment section below, tell us about your book. Write a short summary or choose from the questions provided under the "Getting Started" tab. Strive for a paragraph in length. Give details!

Be sure to include your first name, the first initial of your last name, the grade you will enter in the fall, and title of your book. Example: Fern Z. Grade 3 Charlotte's Web

Then, read the comments that your friends post and reply to at least one of them.

Finally, check back on the comment you wrote last week and see if you anyone has replied to you.

Good News!

If you missed commenting on one of the weekly blog posts, it's not too late to leave a comment. Simply click the link to the week you missed (located on the right-hand side bar) and type your comment. Comments will be accepted on all posts through August 23, 2015.

Hint: You may want to double check that you left a comment for each week, so that you qualify for the reward.  :)

Thanks for accepting the Summer Reading Blog Challenge!

This week I spent a few nights at my Granny & Grampy's, so I took a break from the Magic Tree House series. At Granny & Grampy's I read "Uncle Wiggly and the Red Spots." Uncle Wiggly is a rabbit wanted to play tag with a little ducky. And when they were playing tag, Uncle Wiggly ended up in a berry bush. The berries got stuck in his fur, so when he got home, his mom so the spots and thought they were chicken pox. And he had to stay in bed after the doctor examined him. But soon, after another friend had the same thing happen, the ducky told Uncle Wiggly's mom that it was just berries. So then Uncle Wiggly got to play again.

I read Magic Tree House book #27 Thanksgiving on Thursday. Jack and Annie go back to the first Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims at Plymouth. They helped make the Thanksgiving feast and Jack accidentally knocked the turkey into the fire. Jack felt bad but then he found out they had other turkeys. While they were there they tried to solve a riddle. They learned that the Pilgrim's life was hard even for the kids and that they had a lot to be thankful for.

I read more of the book Sisters. One time when the sisters were little, the big sister was listening to some music and the little sister was going to read a book. The little sister stopped the music and the big sister screamed. Then they started to draw and the mom came in to look at the drawings. The family trip is continuing. They were driving. This is where I read to so far.

This week I read Who was Leonardo da Vinci?. In this book, a poor family had a baby and they named him Leonardo. Both of his parents abandoned him so he went to live with his uncle. At his uncle's, he brought a book his dad bought him whenever he was little. All the interesting stuff he saw he drew. One day his uncle saw his art and decided to give him a job as an artist at a city. He became a great artist and inventor.
