I read Magic Tree House Fact Tracker: Rain Forests. I learned about plants and animals that live in rain forests. There are very big plants in the rain forest, and some are even bigger than bicycle tires! There are animals in the rain forests that haven't even been discovered or named yet! Rain forests are being destroyed by people and animals are becoming endangered. Rain forests give us a bunch of stuff that help us live and stay alive like food, medicine, and clean air.
In Magic Tree House: Afternoon in the Amazon, Jack and Annie go to the rain forest in the present day, but if the rain forests become extinct the author will have to change the book so Jack and Annie have to go back in time to see the rain forest. The most important thing I learned from these books is that we need to protect and save our rain forests!

In Owl Diaries: Eva's Treetop Festival Eva wanted to put together a festival but she needs to ask for help from her friends. Asking for help is something that she does not like to do. Will Eva get help so she can put on the Festival? I really like the book because it teaches you that there's nothing wrong about asking for help.

So far in Starring Jules, the movie that Jules is in got postponed and they have to wait to start filming the movie. The movie was postponed because the main lead got something in his eye.

ReplyDeleteIn Starring Jules (in drama rama) Jules is very sad because the movie got postponed. Her mom was seeing how Jules would acting if she would ignore her. Jules was going even crazier and was getting a little bit out of control!

I read The Story of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting. In this book Dr. Dolittle starts out as a people doctor, then he becomes an animal doctor. He has to go to Africa to help sick monkeys. He has no money to buy a boat or food, so he asks if he can borrow a sailor's boat, and if the food store owner will wait for his money until he gets back from Africa. They both say yes. He learns how to talk to all different kinds of animals. Read this great book to find out more about his journey in Africa and the other animals he meets. Natalie Zeigler grade 2

Brian T grade 3 Today I read Jurassic World Field Guide. I read about my favorite dino, the velociraptor. I learned that it could retract its sickle claw when not in use. I also learned that its name means swift hunter and its probably the most famous carnivourus dino after the t-rex.

ReplyDeleteI read Olivia ... and the Missing Toy. Olivia was dreaming about riding a camel in Egypt and then her mother woke her up for soccer practice. Olivia asked her mom to make her a red uniform instead of the green one she doesn't like. Olivia waited and waited and waited for her mom to be done but she gave up and left the room. She went to play with her cat and toy. Then her mother said it's ready. But then her toy went missing. She was really upset. Olivia looked everywhere for her toy. Then a storm came and she heard something coming from behind the door. It was her dog with her toy. Olivia's dog ruined her toy. Her mother said sorry and her dad said they would get her a new one. Olivia fixed her toy by sewing it. She didn't want books read to her about dogs that night. But she didn't stay mad at her dog forever.

ReplyDeleteThis week I am reading Magic Tree House #20 "Dingoes at Dinnertime." Jack and Annie found a little joey (which is a baby kangaroo), and they wanted to find the joey's mommy. When Jack and Annie try to find his mommy, they discovered a wildfire. Then they went back to the spot they found the joey. Then, they heard a slapping noise, and it was the mommy! But, we have three chapters to go yet!

ReplyDeleteI am reading a Doc Mcstuffins Bubble Trouble. It is about 3 frindes and were playing with bubbles and a gril named Alma refills up the bubble maker.When they turn it on the bubbles don't come out. My favored thing about this book is that they can fix the bubble maker and because they show Alma what to use and what not to use.

ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called Sophie the Chatterbox it is about a girl who actually wants her name to be Sophie the Honest but does that mean when people ask her questions she has to be honest and say everything. People are starting to think she is a Chatterbox because when asked a question she wants to go on and on with her answer. So then she eventually becomes Sophie the Chatterbox.

ReplyDeleteI am reading The Last Hope, which is in the WARRIORS series. My favorite character is Firestar, because the other characters trust him. Firestar is also brave and strong. He won't do something he doesn't agree with. That is why he is my favorite character.

ReplyDeleteThis week I've been reading Skylanders Giants Master Eon's Official Guide, I got this book from the Simpson Library. What I like so far about the book is that I can see all of the Skylanders different attacks. I'm learning all about what it's actually like to play the game. It's a great book so far!

So far my favorite part of the book is when they all get together to talk about what they are going to do during the summer. I like that Rocky is going to Circus camp, I think that's funny.

DeleteHey Wildcats! We just got back from our family vacation to the beach and I finished 3 whole books while we were there. It was so awesome to spend some time relaxing and READING. Keep up the great work with your blog entries! It sounds like some of you are reading some fantastic books. I'm so excited to see so many 2nd graders posting on our school blog.

ReplyDeleteI read Magic Tree House #8 Midnight on the Moon and this time they go forward in time instead of going back in time. They went there to help Morgan le Fay get out of her spell. I figured out the curse on Morgan le Fay. I also read the companion fact tracker Space. It told me about all of the different planets in the solar system. One new fact that I learned is that no one has ever walked on Mars. Maybe one day I will be the first person to walk on Mars! I recommend that you read these books if you like learning about the solar system.

ReplyDeleteI finshed the book The Ball Hogs. In the first game, they lost because they did not pass the ball. In the rest of the book, they learned they needed to pass inorder to win. I liked the book because i like to play soccer too.

ReplyDeleteI read Fly Guy and the Frankenfly. In this book, Fly Guy the fly and his owner Buzz were making stuff from a monster comic. Buzz had a dream that Fly Guy made a Frankenstein but it was not a person. It was a fly. Then, the dream was over and Buzz fell out of his bed.

ReplyDeletePrincess Pink went to bed one night and in the middle of the night she got up and went to the kitchen to get a drink. When she opened it she saw this world then she jumped right in to the world and landed on a moose. Then she met a friend and her name was Moldylocks she showed her this house. They went in it and so they heard voices so they hid when the beards walked in they found them and then they fan as fast as they can.
